Anastasia Snyhir

Anastasia, born Ukrainian, had just finished art school at 17 years old and four months later was forced to leave her home due to the ongoing war in the Ukraine. As traumatic as this event was for her at the beginning of a promising art career, she
found refuge in Ireland. Mary Moran, a teacher of dyslexic children, who with her husband Padraig took Anastasia and her family into their home.

Anastasia could not believe the kindness and opportunities that the Irish have given her since having to leave the Ukraine, and because of that kindness she now has the renewed hope of living her dream of becoming a professional illustrator.

After arriving in Ireland, she attended school to learn English and drew illustrations for some of the teachers who were delighted with her talent and bought some of her
artwork. Later she illustrated booklets for Mary Moran's educational book series that teach dyslexic children how to read.

Now on her own with her family in Tullamore she has illustrated her first children's book with author Steffi Fennelly, "The World is in Our Hands" and is now attending art college. The hope the Irish have given in these opportunities is more than she could have ever imagined.

It has been a true pleasure to publish for both author and illustrator this wonderful book of hope and adventure.
